‘Anu’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Heljo Jänes. It is grown from the seed of open pollinated (1984) ‘Leningradskaja Tšornaja’. Application for registration registered 05.03.2004, variety is in DUS (registration trials).

Ripens late.

Cherry is medium or large, heart shaped. The skin is reddish black. The fl esh is dark red, firm, juicy, sweet and sour, very tasty. The juice is dark red. The stone can be easily separated from the flesh.

Tree is vigorous, with a pyramidal crown. A good bearer, self-unfruitful, pollinated by ‘Leningradskaja Tšornaja’ and ‘Arthur’. Winter hardy. Disease resistance is good.
