Sweet cherry · Irma

‘Irma’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Heljo Jänes, Arthur Jaama and Eevi Jaama. It is grown from the seed of open pollinated (1981) ‘Leningradskaja Tšornaja’. Application for registration registered 05.03.2004, variety is in DUS (registration trials).

Ripens late.

Cherry is medium, round shaped. The skin is dark red. The flesh is dark red, medium firm, juicy, sweet and sour. The juice is dark red. Freestone.

Tree is vigorous, with a spreading crown. A good bearer, self-unfruitful, pollinated by ‘Meelika’ and ‘Arthur’. Winter hardy. Disease resistance is good.
