‘Piret’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Kalju Kask. It is grown from the seed of open pollinated (1976) ‘Norri’. registered as new cultivar since 18.01.2010.

Ripening time: midseason.

Cherry is rather smallish, heart shaped. The skin is dark red, glossy. The flesh is dark red, soft, juicy, sweet and sour, tasty. The juice is dark red. The stone can be easily separated from the flesh.

Tree has dwarfing vigour, rather compact. A medium bearer, self-unfruitful, pollinated by ‘Meelika’. Winter hardy. Disease resistance is good.
