‘Suur Tõll’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Arthur and Eevi Jaama. It is grown from the seed of open pollinated (1965) ‘Liivi Kollane Munaploom’. Application for registration registered 05.03.2004, variety is in DUS (registration trials).

Ripening time: midseason.

Plum is large, oblong-oval or oval. The skin is greenish yellow, overspread with red spots. The flesh is greenish yellow, soft, stringy, sweet and sour, tasty, clingstone.

Tree is vigorous, with a spreading crown, a medium bearer, self-unfertile. Pollinizers are ‘Duke of Edinburgh’ and ‘Noarootsi punane’. Winter hardy. Disease resistance is good.
