Pear - Lutsu võipirn

Pear · Lutsu võipirn

‘Lutsu Võipirn’ is bred by Johan Luts. It was grown from the seed of the open pollinated (1924) seedling of a Czechoslovakian pear cultivar.

Autumn season cultivar: ripens in September and stores about two weeks.

Fruit is medium to large, globose. The ground colour is light green or yellowish when fully ripe without overcolour. The flesh is white, juicy buttery texture, sweet and sour, with robust grit cells around the core. Scab may attack the fruit in the years favourable for the disease.

Tree is very vigorous, upright spreading. Winter hardiness is rather good, but in severe winters considerable damages may occur.
