‘Suhkruploom’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Julius Eslon. It is grown from the seed of open pollinated (1948) ‘Wilhelmine Späth’. Registered in 1957.

Ripens early.

Plum is small, oblong-oval. The skin is lilac black, with a strong bloom. The flesh is yellowish green, medium firm, sweet and sour, tasty, freestone.

Tree is medium vigorous, with an upright crown, a good bearer, self-fertile. Pollinizers are ‘Queen Victoria’ and ‘Wilhelmine Späth’. Winter hardiness is weak. Disease resistance is medium.
