‘Veiniõun’ is bred in the farmstead orchard of Roogoja in the Harjumaa county by Uno Kivistik. Originated from the cross ‘Roogoja’ × ‘Komsomolets’ made in 1959. Registered on 19.12.2006.

Autumn season cultivar: stores until November.

Fruit is medium to large, round conical, totally red. The flesh is purplish red, juicy, sweet-sourish. Resistance to apple scab is medium. Suitable for making juice.

Tree is medium vigorous, spreading, leaves and shoots are red. Starts to bear 4–5 years after planting. Young trees require protection to sunscald damage.
