Aia ilu

Apple

Malus domestica Borkh.

‘Aia Ilu’ is bred by Aleksander Siimon. Seedling of unknown parent was selected in 1945.

Autumn-season. The consumption period is in September. Processing cultivar for compote and dried apple slices.

Fruits large to very large, globose, slightly ribbed. The ground colour is greenish yellow, a few fruits are covered with a weak red blush. The fl esh is yellowish white, with medium fi rmness, juicy, subacid.

Tree moderately vigorous, precocious and productive, but have has the tendency to biennial bearing. Trees are completely winter hardy and with low susceptibility to scab.
