Kaari

Malus domestica Borkh.

’Kaari’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Kalju Kask. It is grown from the seed of open pollinated (1967) ‘Antonovka’. Registered as new cultivar since 19.01.2010.

Winter season cultivar: can be stored until middle winter or consumed already in autumn.

Fruit is of medium size, ovoid or somewhat broader. The skin light yellow, overspread with red. The fl esh is white, juicy, sweet and sour.

Tree is precocious, a good bearer. Shoots grow at a good angle from the stem and confi rm strongly. Winter hardy. Disease resistance is medium or good.
