Kaja

Apple

Malus domestica Borkh.

‘Kaja’ is bred by Aleksander Siimon. The cross ‘Liivi Kuldrenett’ × ‘Suislepp’ was made in 1947.

Autumn-season cultivar: ripens in September and can be stored about one month.

Fruit is of medium size, ovate, ribbed. The colour is whitish yellow, without overcolor. The skin is slightly shining, smooth. The fl esh is soft, yellowish white, juicy, with subacid fl avour. Fruit is sensitive to bruising. Dessert apple. Low susceptibility to apple scab.

Tree is of medium vigour, round-topped, precocious, moderately winter hardy. Cultivar for growing in homeorchards.
