Malus domestica Borkh.

‘Krista’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Kalju Kask. It was grown from the seed of the open pollinated (1978) seedling of L25. Registered as new cltivar and PBR protected since 17.12.2007.

Autumn season cultivar. However, in a good storehouse it can be kept until March.

Fruit is of medium size, round, very uniform. The skin is light yellow, overspread with red. The fl esh is yellow-white, hard, juicy, sweet and sour, the shipping quality is good.

Tree is precocious, a good bearer. Shoots grow at a good angle from the stem and confi rm strongly. Medium winter hardy. Disease resistance (including scab) is very good. Suitable in organic gardening.
