Malus domestica Borkh.

‘Liivika’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Kalju Kask. The cross between the seedlings L8 × L25 was made in 1983. Registed as new cultivar in 23.02.2009

Winter cultivar: stores until March. However, the fruits are marketable since October.

Fruit is of medium size, ovoid, but the shape is variable. The skin is greenish yellow, with bright or, in some years, weak red overcolour on one side. The fl esh is greenish white, medium hard, juicy, sweet and sour, very tasty.

Tree is precocious, a good bearer. Shoots grow at a good angle from the stem and confirm strongly. Winter hardy. Disease resistance is good. Suitable in organic gardening.
