Apple

Malus domestica Borkh.

‘Meelis’ is bred by Aleksander Siimon. The cross was made in 1946: ‘Borovinka’ × ‘Tallinna Pirnõun’. Registed as new cultivar in 23.02.2009

Winter season cultivar: October – March.

Fruit is over medium size, oblate. The greenish yellow ground colour is covered with brownish flush with stripes. The flesh is greenish white, with medium firmness, juicy, sweet-sourish. Rather susceptible to apple scab in the years of advantageous spreading of the disease.

Tree is of medium size, spreading, precocious, productive and winter hardy. Limbs are brittle and thereby easily breaking under a big crop.
