Pepi

Pear

Pyrus communis L.

‘Pepi’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Kalju Kask and Aaleksander Siimon. Parents are not known (one of them may be ‘Precoce de Trevoux’). Variety is protected since 22.03.2004

Autumn season cultivar.

Fruit size is variable: if partenocarpic, then longer than usual. The skin is green or yellow, partly covered with red. The flesh is white, juicy and almost without grit cells. A good taste.

Tree is high: by cutting off the top, a nice round tree can be formed. Medium winter  hardiness. By twice-time-spraying, scab is not a problem.
