Prunus L.

‘Ave’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Arthur Jaama and Eevi Jaama. The cross ‘Wilhelmine Späth’ × ‘Tartu Kaunitar’ was made in 1964. Variety is protected since 22.03.2004.

Ripening time: midseason.

Plum is large, round. The skin is purplish red. The flesh is whitish yellow, medium firm, juicy, sweet and sour, very tasty, freestone.

Tree is vigorous, pyramidal, a good bearer, with medium winter hardiness, partially self-fertile. Pollinizers are ‘Emma Leppermann’ and ‘Duke of Edinburgh’. Disease resistance is good.
