‘Vilmitar’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Arthur and Eevi Jaama. The cross ‘Wilhelmine Späth’ × ‘Tartu Kaunitar’ was made in 1964. Application for registration registered 05.03.2004, variety is in DUS (registration trials).
Ripening time: early midseason.
Plum is medium, round. The skin is dark yellow, overspread with pinkish colour. The fl esh is dark yellow, soft, aromatic, very tasty, semifreestone.
Tree is medium vigorous, with an upright crown, a medium bearer, partially self-fertile. Pollinizer is ‘Emma Leppermann’. Medium winter hardiness. Disease resistance is good.
