‘Elle’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Heljo Jänes, Arthur and Eevi Jaama. It is grown from the seed of open pollinated (1977) ‘Juku’. Application for registration registered 05.03.2004, variety is in DUS (registration trials).
Ripens early.
Cherry size is medium or large, heart shaped. The skin is dark red. The flesh is dark red, medium fi rm, juicy, sweet and sour, tasty. The juice is dark red. The stone can be easily separated from the flesh.
Tree is medium vigorous, with spreading crown. A good bearer, self-unfruitful, pollinated by ‘Meelika’ and ‘Arthur’. Winter hardy. Disease resistance is good.
